Wayanad is seriously affected by the severe landslide in Chooralmala, Mundakkai area of Meppadi Panchayath in Wayanad district. More than 317 bodies are recovered till now. Many more persons are suspected dead, yet to be recovered from the mud and the river. More than 9000 people are shifted to relief camps. Kerala state Government is coordinating the relief works with active collaboration of district and local administrative bodies, military forces, NDRF, Police and Forest departments besides various voluntary groups and NGOs. Neethi Vedhi staff members, Core team volunteers and other members are actively involved in the relief works, especially by providing psycho social support. Neethi Vedhi is planning continuous involvement for psycho social rehabilitation of the survivors.
